Introdicing Alaska's Ugrunaaluk kuukpikensis (oo-GREW-na-luck KOOK-pik-en-sis), a type of duck-billed dinosaur depicted in our painting by James Havens that once roamed the North Slope of Alaska in herds, living in darkness for months at a time and probably experiencing snow. This original painting was advised by Dr. Pat Druckenmiller UAF Musem of the North and features new science and discovery. The name Ugrunaaluk kuukpikensis (oo-GREW-na-luck KOOK-pik-en-sis) is Inupiaq for "ancient grazer." The work is now featured in the permanent collection of Museum of the North in Fairbanks, Alaska and is displayed as a center piece of the main atrium. This piece was also the selected winner of the 2015 SVP National Geographic Lanzendorf Award for best 2-D art.
