COMPLETED 2024 - CRAIG | Tuskers of Alkebulan was the first in a series of hand-painted, life-sized oil-on-canvas portraits showcasing big tusker elephants. At 53 years old, Craig stands out as one of Africa's few remaining big-tusked elephants. This project not only highlighted his remarkable story but also proved to be a huge success in raising awareness for elephant conservation. "Craig - Tuskers of Alkebulan" significantly contributed to wildlife awareness and supported initiatives like the Tsavo Trust. Special thanks to our project partners - Brian Montalbo and the Big Life Foundation. Tsavo Trust is an action-oriented, field-based, Kenyan not-for-profit conservation organisation dedicated to securing and protecting the Tsavo Conservation Area (TCA) in Kenya. We understand the significance of a holistic approach to biodiversity conservation, which includes initiatives such as elephant conservation efforts focused on the majestic Balguda Tuskers.
Our staff is comprised largely of local community members, bringing a wealth of experience, expertise, and leadership that positions us as a vital player in the ecosystem's conservation efforts.
As one of the few organisations that serve as a key long-term partner of Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), we work extensively with surrounding communities to promote conservation within the TCA. Our efforts are aimed at the landscape scale to ensure the long-term success of Kenya’s largest formal wildlife protected area.
We possess the networks and expertise necessary to act as a catalyst for new and enhanced partnerships that focus on revenue generation directed towards conservation. This approach is essential for the long-term sustainability of the TCA.
Since our founding in December 2012, we have now reached 11 years of impactful work and find ourselves at an exciting crossroad in our evolution. Over the next decade, Tsavo Trust is poised for considerable growth. We invite you to VISIT THE TSAVO TRUST WEBSITE HERE to learn more.
We also offer limited edition prints that capture the beauty of our wildlife, helping to raise wildlife awareness and support our conservation initiatives.
Special thanks to Richard Moller, Alia Haller, and the entire staff at TSAVO TRUST for the tireless work they do!
